The love story of a couple who fell in love with each other but destiny kept them apart...
I was studying in a college far from my hometown. Mostly, I used to spend my time alone in my apartment. As I was good in my studies, I usually ended up having uninvited friends over. But after some time, I got used to it and even enjoyed their company. Well, time was just passing by.
After a year, my sister married and moved to a city near my college, so I often visited her. I remember, maybe it was my second or third visit to her, and we usually had coffee on her balcony. During one of these visits, I noticed a girl in a gallery across from us. I can't express my emotions, but I was stunned. In a nutshell, if I want to describe her, "ANGEL" would be a more appropriate word. Beautiful eyes, fair skin, long hair, and perfect lips. I was staring at her and couldn't help myself. After a minute, she looked at me and smiled. I don't know how or why that happened, but I was lost in the moment. She waved at me, and we ended up having a pleasant conversation through our eyes.
The next day, my sister was not at home, and I was sitting on the balcony, waiting for the girl to appear. After some time, she came out, and I was again stuck in that moment. But this time, she waved at me immediately, and we ended up exchanging numbers. Guess how we did that? She had a whiteboard and wrote down her number. I noted it, and it was that simple.
I called her the very next moment, and we ended up talking for about two and a half hours. During that conversation, we asked each other out, maybe subconsciously. We decided to meet at a coffee shop and shared many things. We both didn't want to go home but had to.
After a week, I needed to go back to college, so I asked her to meet me before I left. She came, and her eyes were all teary. I didn't know why, but maybe she didn't want me to go. I promised her that I would come back after a month or so, and then I left. We kept talking continuously, maybe because we liked each other. I didn't want to wait, so I made an excuse and went back to my sister's place to surprise her. When I arrived, I called her and asked her to come over. The moment she saw me, she was overwhelmed with happiness. She couldn't control herself and asked me to come down. She hugged me so tightly, I felt like I was in heaven. But this time, I was only there for three days. As usual, we made plans to go out and spend cherished time together. One day, her flat was empty, so she asked me to come over for a talk. Her room was beautiful, and while looking around, I found a picture of us right next to her bed. I was so happy to see that. We sat on the couch, hugged each other, and she held me tightly. After a moment, I kissed her unknowingly, and she let it happen as if she wanted that moment. We ended up kissing each other, and after an hour, I went back to my place. The next day, I returned to my college.
As usual, we kept talking on the phone. But I remember, after a week, her number became unreachable. I tried countless times but couldn't reach her. After a month, I decided to go back and propose to her. But when I arrived, she wasn't there. Her apartment was locked, and her neighbours had no idea where she was. I even asked my sister, but she didn't know anything either. I spent the whole week searching for her or a way to contact her. I even asked at her workplace, but no one knew anything.
After a week, I went back to college, all depressed and lost. I kept going back to my sister's place for a year, hoping to find her. By then, I was in my final year, so I stopped going back to her home and focused on my studies. Time passed, and I spent most of my time studying or visiting a lake near my college where I often cried.
Two months later, on April 12th, I got a call from an unknown number. It turned out to be her. I was stunned by her voice and couldn't say anything. She said, "I am sorry, I can't tell you anything, I just can't, I wish I could, but I just can't." She said those words and hung up. A minute later, I got a text saying, "If you want to see me, come to our place in eight months."
I graduated that year and went to our place, but she wasn't there. I waited the whole night, but she didn't show up. Again, I got a text asking me to meet after another few months. The pattern repeated, and every time, I would go back, but she was never there. Twenty years have passed, and I still get the same text on the same date when we first met. And even now, I am still waiting for her to show up...
